Well, then I guess my naming of the easy chute from the Southeast Glacier to the upper snow field on Mt. Ritter can be "common usage," too!
Owen Malloy gave me the pointer in 1998 to going around the far (uphill) side of the "three-toed buttress" and I started calling it "Owen's Chute" in my
route descriptions from then on.
I've seen a couple of other Mt. Ritter trip reports refer to it by that name as well, so apparently it's catching on...
