The answer from other participants will be important in letting the LPL group know how much longer they can wait before heading up.

For some reason I thought we had to go to Meysan Lake first anyway. So I guess there is no change for me......................................................DUG

I'm bringing one more for Meysan - Matt. He doesn't post/read the boards, but he is a Scout Leader/Eagle Scout/Marine and was on Team Snail's successful Whitney dayhike on the 2nd. I just want to make sure we have enough muscle on hand to help Richard with his pack............................DUG

I'm up for the scenic route also. I'm slow though, so they may have to wait even longer, blush

Looking forward to Doug's bacon cheese burger already! grin

So does 1:00 pm for the summit sound OK?

BTW, now I'm (not just my pack) planning on asking to be carried up.

Hi!

Does anyone know what our prospects of running into large marauding bands of starving mosquito's Saturday on the Meysan Lakes Trail is?

Thanks!

Here's to all getting to the summit and back down safely (or more importantly, having fun and getting back down safely). wink I was waiting to post as there was a chance of combining a business trip with the group hike (driving down to OC with stops along the way). As business dictates the dates, I'll be down south within the next few weeks and plan on Baldy or SG while there. Definitely bringing the gear; hope to hike with some of you. And as always, looking forward to TR's and pix. Have a great group hike! smile

Hi, guys and gals:

I'll most likely not be there for the hike tomorrow. Our house is in W Palmdale, pretty close to the Crown fire that's burning SW of us eek . I was pretty freaked out last night, got my car packed for the dogs. Thankfully didn't have to evac. I will be home keeping an eye on things tonight, as winds tend to kick up in the late afternoons here in the valley. Good luck and be safe tomorrow!!

It ws difficult to see across the IWV this morning because of all the smoke drifting in from those fires. I hope we can see across the Whitney Zone tomorrow afternoon.

See you all in the morning.

Wow that's a bummer Kristine. I hope they get that fire under control soon. There was a lot of smoke in the Adelanto/Kramer Junction area...I passed a bunch of fire trucks/crews returning off the Hwy 58. Was hoping to meet you.

Be safe...PS I used to have Dobies, they're great dogs! Yours are v. pretty

Our business trips are subject to change... We've had clients change a meeting the day before (after airline tickets were purchased). eek This trip... we'll be driving. I just spoke to Dave (my husband); looking at either 7th/8th or 14th/15th. I'll start a new post with dates as we firm our plans. Would love to meet you, Cindy!

Jeff, will you be in town on the 8th?

Shin, hoping we can carpool to Mt. Baldy together. Again. smile This time, I can drive...

Kristine, I can imagine how disappointed you are to be missing the hike today but completely understand your reasons to stay home. You are still in my thoughts and prayers (as are all affected by these So Cal fires).
