Congratulations Richard on your 99X Mt. Whitney.

Let's hike Mt. Whitney with Richard on 10/10/2010 Sunday.

If the weather is bad, let's have a party at Portal Store.

I will be on the mountain Sunday. I'll keep a look out for the "partying" group.

Shin.....I was wonderful meeting you on Baldy yesterday. You and your friends were so friendly and gracious. Thanks for the invites. It was great to meet a true Baldy legend....and you made my day.

Richard,

Big, Mt. Whitney-sized congratulations on #99! You should stop there. Who needs 100? Kidding...

I'm sorry but as of now I can't make it for your 100th. Too many things happening next weekend. If I play hooky and go to the mountains I'll get detention for sure. cool

Have a GREAT time on your 100th. Wish I could be there.

All the best.

Shin,

You are a popular icon on Baldy. It was also a treat bumping into you on the summit yesterday. Wish I could join you on MR this weekend but I already committed to San G.

Not to hijack this thread, but does anyone know of a link for the Mt Baldy forum? I dropped my hat yesterday and hoping a nice samaritan found it. Thanks.

Ideally, I'd come but I am not a fan of snow mountaineering and dealing with the elements. In fact, I don't want to be anywhere near the snow.

Enjoy the climb that day and please be safe!

Richard, I'd love to be there but a few thousand miles (and, oh yeah, dollars) dicatates a negatori on that. I wish you well, and look forward to seeing you next summer - when you'll probably be going for the alliterative 111th.

Since Shin didn't say anything about time:

We're (I'm) shooting for 12:00pm on the summit. That will give us plenty of time to head down for burgers and beer. (And that's MORE important than getting to the summit! It will be a complete failure if we don't get to eat at the Portal Store.)

This is Lone Pine Film Festival weekend, so if you don't have a room yet, plan on camping.

Mike volunteered to lead any "slow" folks up. (Not really. He's got bigger plans.)

Remember that if there are hundreds of us, we'll have to break up into small groups. LOL!

The forecast is starting to look good. If we have a few days of sunny weather, I'm still hoping to head up the MR.

Thanks for any kind words. I've been too busy the past few days to read, or post, but I hope to get back to this later...

Well, Richard, I’m betting you’re feeling pretty happy right now…. What a goal you’ve set! I wish I could be there, not only to participate in the climb itself, but also to help celebrate as you cross over into the triple-digit summits!

Congratulations!!! I look forward to seeing the pictures.

I will be ascending Whitney from the Lone Pine Campground on Sunday Oct. 10. I hope to see all on the summit. This will be my 25th ascent. I have a ways to go to reach 100.

My wife would probably want to argue about that one...

100 summits on 10/10/2010. Definition of hundred: noun: ten 10s. Just perfect, Richard. Will be thinking about you and 'crew' the entire day. Fingers crossed for good weather/conditions. Take time to enjoy those moments on the summit. 100 is big... cool

what is the departure place? and time? My partner just crapped out on me for our attempt on T-Bolt this weekend. I may just drive to Whitney anyway and join you folks. I had a great time last year on the Thor trip...
