Hey Fishmonger, JimQpublic and Doug, nice to meet you. I turned back at Iceberg. Looking at your photos I realize I saw you while I was on the way down. Did you see the Mountain lion at Upper Boy Scout? He stalked one of the members of the group I hooked up with. It looked like he was walking a dog. i did not enjoy the section below Lower Boy Scout at all. I tried to stay away from the sound of the rushing water under my feet. Quite an adrenaline rush at 0300AM. Hope to see you on the Mountain again sometime.

we wondered how high you went. Never saw you, but we talked to the three skiers from our Portal site, who also turned back at Iceberg. Too windy for their liking to head up to the notch as well.

sure wished we had headed up Thursday, instead of waiting for the group that never arrived.

Hi Dolby Glad I had a chance to talk with you the other day. That cat could be the one I talked about , It has followed me from the campground area to the Portal several times .I think it is just curious maybe protecting it's backyard?

The group below Iceberg could save some time by heading lower on that slope and up past the waterfall, bad thing about leaving tracks in the snow others will follow and may not like the climbing . Thanks Doug

I took this picture of the group member exploring the bowl above upper boyscout only minutes before the cat followed him. He is only a speck just left of center. After zooming in I think I found the cougar...is this the one following you?

Hi We had a cat several years ago that would sleep on the road during the day , The camphost moved to Lone Pine CG at the end of the season , He stepped out of his RV one morning and on the carpet the cougar was sleeping. The one that seems to follow will stay in cover and if you stop it stops, so as I have said before this requires tippy tippy toeing along .And the other thing that follows you people call it a shadow but don't trust them because sometimes it not there! Plato said they only live on the walls of caves? Thanks Doug
