Hi SirHikeAlot,
I think that it is perfectly all right to compare what we can do with world class athlete's accomplishments. We can appreciate more with their accomplishment. Also, we can relate better with them by comparing with accomplishments of people who we know personally. Our level is just a weekend hobby. Their level is a professional. I respect all my hiking friend's accomplishments more than world class athlete's accomplishments.

Let's enjoy our hobby, someday we can be a world class athlete.

Actually this post was started to poke a bit of fun at one of our local "not so world class" hikers that is world class in our book. Technically no hijacking happened, it simply continued on the vein that it was started in.
(I can say that with great confidence as my husband started this thread)

Taking it off-topic again (and none of this would apply to my good freinds and climbing companions...

The iList is your best friend.

I've recently added a few more people to my iList.

For those who don't know already - If you click on a User's Name, it brings up their profile. (try it with SirHikeaLot or KevinR or mine if you don't like me...) In the middle of the profile you'll see "Ignore This User." Presto, you don't have to look at their drivel anymore.

Excellent (and timely) advice, Richard! Oops - exclamation mark - I must be "gushing". Hate it when that happens . . .

While we're at it, it might pay to review some relevant info here . Dated, but still on the mark.
