Hi, Has anyone been over Piute Pass from the North Lake trailhead towards Lower Desolation Lake recently for a conditions update? Specifically, how much snow at the pass and is there still a lot of snow on the west side of the pass (possibly covering the trail) to Lower Desolation Lake? Also is the lake still frozen. I've read reports that it is but those were reports from early July. Heading up there with a group that I'm leading the 19-21 of Aug. and was wondering if anyone is up there before then, could they update me on the conditions?
