First timer hiking from Onion Valley to Whitney on Sat. 7/30. Could anyone give me some current information on Forrester Pass.

...We had a great hike and had no problem with Wallace and Wright creeks. 4 of the 6 of us crossed barefooted without problem, water depth to just above the knee on me at 5'7". Two of us put on camp shoes for the crossing.

Thanks again Jim for the input on Forester Pass as we crossed without crampons or ice axes and all was ok. Early crossing was easier as the snow wasn't slush.
