Thought some on here might be interested... I recently hiked up Mt Whitney (trip report in the First Timers thread) and finally had a chance to sit down and identify the surrounding peaks.

Funny you should ask that, that's the one peak that I most wanted to identify, as I got engaged there exactly one year ago today. It's extremely hard to spot, but if you can find Triple Divide Peak and Lions Rock, it's a small seemingly insignificant bump between them. cool

Very nice work with your peak IDs.

A couple of very minor corrections: in the fourth photo down, the prominence just west of Mirror Lake is misidentified as Wotans Throne. This unnamed prominence is often mistaken for Wotans Throne, but Wotans is actually further to the west, just to the northeast of Trail Camp. Oh, and to get really, really picky, there is no apostrophe in the correct spelling of 'Wotans' . . .

Also, in the same picture, it is Crooks 'Peak' (not 'Needle'--your second picture has it named correctly). Day Needle was renamed Crooks Peak by an Act of Congress in 1990 to honor Hulda Crooks, although most veteran climbers still refer to it as 'Day Needle'.
