Hi...2 weeks ago Frank A. and I did Mt. Langley we started at 1:10am and got to New Army Pass at 6am...I liked what I saw from NAP and how easy it was to get up there..So I wanted to go back up in daylight to see the area and use my compass so I can go there in the snow and I will know the area..

Got to cottonwood lakes parking area at 7pm Saturday went to sleep about 8:15 woke at 11pm took a short acting sleeping pill at midnight, went right to sleep and woke up at 3:30 at 4:30 got up and hit the trail at 5am.. Got to NAP at 8:30 had breakfast up there at the NAP sign 31deg. light wind. Hiked down Old Army Pass, went to portal to have coffee and see Doug and Earline..

Going down OAP I met Richard P. he was on a mission to Langley.

Thanks so much for the TR. Great pictures too. I want to do this hike so bad. I've been as far as Cottonwood Lakes a few times. Certainly a magical part of the Sierras. Had my sights on going up NAP to summit Langley on 10/8, but the weather reports are not looking good.

Hi Mark!

I just realized which Mark you are! crazy (duh!!!) I think the last time I saw you was in 2009, and at that time you were still going by "markjwpcp". It's funny, because recently when I was reading the Board, I realized I hadn't seen a post from "markjwpcp" in some time. I assumed that you just stopped posting.

When you posted on another thread last week, there was a familiar feel to it, and when I looked at your pictures you posted on this thread, I recognized you immediately... then saw your old trail name on the album. (nice trip, BTW!)

When did you change to "So.bay Mark"?
