Thanks Shin! My family appreciated your kind thoughts... Here was Ken's reply:

I TOTALLY agree with him!!

This thread reminded me that there happened to be about five straight days of bad weather (29 July - 2 August) during my annual visit to Lone Pine last year. Being a cautious, fair-weather dayhiker, this kept me from climbing everything that was on my list for 2011. But it seems I never get to everything on my list, which has me thinking maybe I should get one-way tickets from now on, and not fly home until I've met all my goals...

Actually, Wells and Lost Cannon were work - that was a separate trip...

Speaking of Challenge peaks, maybe I'll aspire to climb Grouse Mountain this year...

I may have to get in on that action: I'm missing the second Saturday due to two friends getting married at Convict. But the show doesn't start until 1100... laugh

I confess to a serious lack of Whitney summits (0) in 2011, but I had a lot of fun anyway:
Alta Diablo
Anderson
Baldy (16X)
Bighorn (3X)
Bloody
Charlton (3X)
Cucamonga
Corkscrew
Etiwanda
Islip (2X)
Jepson (2X)
Langley
Lookout #2 (2X)
Modjeska
North Palisade
Olancha
Ontario (3X)
San Bernardino (3X)
San Gorgonio (4X)
San Jacinto
Shields
Split
Sugarloaf (N) (2X)
Sugarloaf (S)
Telegraph (3X)
Thunder (3X)
Timber (4X)
Tyndall
Williamson
Wilson (2X)

For 2012, I hope to finish my CA 14ers (Starlight, Polemonium & Shasta) and if the fates allow, Aconcagua.

Best of luck to everyone in the new year!

Nice work Dave! 3 more to go! I think Norma only has a couple more to go as well smile She'll have to pipe in and clarify that, though. I know for sure she is in the teens for the CA 14rs.
