Spend a week in Mexico with a Doctor and you're bound to have a change of heart RE: what you eat/drink... and then find out you potentially have High Blood Pressure. Only about 4 sodas since I've been back and Cheetos are a Special Summit Item now. Besides, those brownies Rosie sent down were so good... I'm bummed I'm out!

Mark, you've got me hooked on the temp thing. I may go out and buy one of those portable Weather Stations like Bracci and King Arthur have to add to the bunch of electronics I have hanging off of my sternum strap.

Look for a thread titled "Delivering Mark's Thermometer..." I'll list the numbers there. Very interesting...

Rather warm and calm morning, so I'm heading up the Main Trail again. Hope the snow and wind wait for me to finish.

Haven't a clue why I even set the alarm. Winds to 70 across the crest today. Maybe I'll find some wildflowers.

The 0440 KLOA forecast warned of potential 115 MPH!!!!! winds across the crest.

Hey Doug: I bought a truck. Please make use of me to save some of those drives down to RC for supplies.

Amazing spindrift banner off of LPP. Glad I didn't go up. Maybe tomorrow.

Thought I was getting off to a bad start this morning when I ripped my down jacket on the way out of the bathroom at Diaz Lake. A truck missed the driveway at McDs. Now that would be a bad start to the day.

Forecast calling for gusts to 30. KLOA is saying 55 across the crest again.

22 up at the Portal. Lots of cars on the road all the way up.

I'm heading up the MT again.

Wind has dropped off completely. Hope it doesn't come back.

NOAA forecast was wrong on the low side yesterday - wind was much stronger than 30.

Made for a fun day in a perverse sort of way... Down jacket gets shredded when I can't hold the bathroom door open... Spot ends up taking a flyer with my camera case inspite of it being weighted down. (Hoping I can get a GPS reading on where it stopped so I can go search for it under more favorable conditions.)

Wind did finally start dying off in the evening. I'm sure anybody up there right now is having a much better time.

May be on Baldy tomorrow with Shin.

In case you've been wondering "what the heck (probably more colorful than that) is he talking about"

The "fun(ny) part of this was that because of the wind, down was swirling around after the jacket snagged on the Anti-Jimmy plate on the bathroom door. Felt as if it was snowing. Shin got to see some more down flying this morning after breakfast when I showed him my poor jacket. Patched it with duct tape when I got home a while ago.

Oh good, so you've seen Shin and he's ok? We were starting to worry when he didn't respond to Jeff's messages about Frank's good-bye party on Wed.

Shin is alive and well. Well, sort of. He's nursing a sore knee and chomping at the bit to get out there!

Things that make me wonder:

- why beer isn't sold until 0600 in Lone Pine? Sorry Myles.
- Why nobody passed me on 395? MM must be having a real bad year.
- why the temp is higher when the wind blows? Friction? Do wind chill charts adjust for this?
- why a group would sleep at the night station at the IAVV? BTW, no permits in the box. I don't feel guilty about not having one.

I'm heading up the MT in a while.

Had a very good day other than heading back down to the Portal (the Corolla made it all the way up) to get another pair of sunglasses and not finding the gear I lost last weekend.

Made the loop in under ten with the West Face search. Awesome day.

The High Route is out of shape because of snow melt. Looks like best plan. Ow is to break off from the MT near Trailside Meadow. That'll take you to CL.

Missed Myles Blair & Chris somehow. Bummer.

More later.

That's amazing Richard! I'm curious... what is your record time? (this may have already been asked, but I don't remember seeing it)

Bummer that you didn't find your sunglasses.
