Thanks Richard. Knowing that it took you 20 hours is encouraging. This will be our longest run yet.

Any ideas on how to manage the shuttle without bringing two vehicles?

All I know is that is that I think it's still a combination of YARTS and Eastern Sierra Transit. I don't know what the schedule is (or if it runs weekends).

Now that I'm not on an iPhone:
- Tuolumne to Red's was only between 5-6K of gain according to GPS; just shy of 37 miles. I'll see if I can find the data and post what the elevation loss was, so you'll have an approximation of your elevation gain.
- I didn't have it with me for Tuolumne to Happy Isle, but it didn't feel like it was more than 1K'. The worst of it was the section after the Mist Trail splits off, the crowds down to Happy Isle and the Horse $417 smell in the heat of the early afternoon... Plan on people thinking you're obnoxious if you want to keep anything but a Snail's Pace down to the Valley Floor.

Because of my work schedule and the shuttle logistics, I think we are going to have to do this section another time. Unless of course someone just hapened to be headed to Yosemite valley arround 7pm Friday night from the Mammoth area. smile If I had more time off I would use YART, it looks like a good deal.

looking at the feasibility of the other sections for this Saturday.

Any thoughts on this section?

Red Meadow - Florence Lake = 59 miles

That requires an east side/west side shuttle.

BTW: if you're looking for a 50-plus, why don't you do the Evo Tour... South Lake to North Lake. Davey and Tracy motored thru it recently and have been asking if I'd like to do it with them. (The answer being: not anytime soon... I'm taking a break from any high-mileage stuff for a while (I hope.))
