Rosie;
Just finished looking at last months Back Packer magazine, you take better pictures than the so called PROS. I am planning my first JMT thru hike in about 2 years, it is so exciting to see your pictures, i can hardly wait. I hope it is as beatiful as your pictures!!!!!!

Thanks Silent Hiker! I'll look forward to hearing your plans... it's an amazing, absolutely beautiful trail, that's for sure. You'll love it!! You could hike it every year and never get tired of it… every time I’ve been on the JMT it’s been different, so many factors change the experience - weather, water/stream crossings, what month, day, time of day, if you’re solo or with a friend(s), hiking direction, etc.

I’m about half way thru with a book called “Almost Somewhere”… it’s a story about three women who hiked the JMT in 1993 (maybe it was 1992… I don’t have it in front of me). I’m really enjoying this book so far… makes me want to go back again next year!

Just wanted to add that crossing paths with Rosie at Sunrise HSC was an unexpected treat...a real trail nugget moment. We were in the middle of nowhere and there she was... (indeed she looked fine too!)
Did not recognize her behind those dark pink sunglasses. Impressed that she finished - in grand style too...(BTW, her pack was bigger than mine - ah the Muir).
That girl can hike... with the best.
Nice job and well done!

Mark, it was great to finally meet you! I figured I'd run into you on the trail SOME day smile

LOL! Well, ya know... YOU had sunglasses on also, and I recognized you! Of course, a woman on the trail with long hair isn't nearly as distinctive as a man on the trail with a long silver mane! I recognized you immediately from your High Sierra Topix pics!
