Are there any other writers among us? I would love to collaborate with some fellow storytellers on a book about our hiking adventures. We could write a book called "The Storytelling Caboose." I'll be bringing my hiking journal for sure!

This is going to be tons of fun! I can't wait!

Posted in the San Gabriel Forums, the honey is no longer available, plus getting a pass sometime around 0530 might be tough. Best to pick one up at REI (there's one in Rancho Cucamonga and one in Arcadia) the day/night before.

As a side note just to confirm - Adventure Pass is required to park along the road at Manker Flat.

And to all others who plan to be part of the Caboose Crew...

When I called 1st dibs on the 'sweep position', last week, I had no idea there might be a book. smile Here's another idea for the title: "Mountain Tales from the Caboose". Or (and just kidding)... "The Little Caboose that Could".

Fun times ahead! smile

That's from the same guy that wrote home from college to his parents

Dear Dad,

No Mon, no fun, your Son

Which prompted the response

Too Bad, so sad, your dad smile

I was up today and the windbreaks/rock walls are up. I needed one, too. The morning started warm with no wind but as the day went on it got gray, cool, and windy.

Oh, Stacy, this is so true!! Every time I read another name of someone who's joining us on this hike it just makes me feel all the more excited and happy! I think this is going to be such a special group hike! Thanks for the suggestion of putting work gloves in your pack... I'll be doing the same. (LOL! guess what color mine are? laugh )

Mark - I'm really looking forward to finally getting to try some of those world-famous cookies you make!! I agree with lilbitmo - chocolate chip!!! smile ....Oh, and great pic BTW!

(TrailBud)Doug - Fun! Fun! Fun! No doubt...the caboose is where it's happening!

Shin - Thanks for making the arangements with Pavel to open the ski hut for us. Most important, I wanted to tell you that I am so very grateful that I am included in sharing this 300th climb with you!!
