Hi guys,

Does anybody have room for one passenger to ride up the hill? I'm looking at the radar and am now really concerned about driving my small car up there at that time of morning, especially after Harvey's report tonight. If I can't find a ride, I will have to bow out and join you guys on another adventure.

That's fine with me, Yeti. I'll be one of the slower ones anyway. Might only make it to the ski hut myself. What time do you want me to be at the Lodge? I don't get cell reception out there so I wouldn't be able to call or text.

This is from the mt baldy website...

It just started snowing and with the temps into the low 20's we should get a few inches of the light and dry stuff overnight. We are making snow right now and will be ready to open up the tubing park at 9am tomorrow morning.
yesterdays storm gave us a good base to start with but we need more from mother nature or alot more hrs making snow. We are hoping next weeks storms pan out and we can open more terrain by next weekend. bd

Dr. Murray is in on this?????

Be ready for the Three Ring Circus tomorrow... Remember when I mentioned being patient? It's highly likely that a LOT of people will want to see this snow. One day it took about two hours to get down past the village.

LOL YOu guys know I don't have chains right????? We might not get far. One time my truck skidded right off the road A Tundra is just as good as a civic if you don't have chains.

Ross park at the lodge and I have room for just you....BJ and I are coming up together that gives room for you and the other person I just said OK To....We'll be driving up together or hiking up together!
BJ Will be on black ice duty,

I went ahead and purchased a jacket. Also puffy and slim fitting. smile No need to tie Target bag on Doug's side mirror unless you want to for fun... wink Maybe someone else will want to borrow your puffy and slim fitting jacket. Thank you for your kind gesture...

GREAT UPDATE! Thank you! I'm bringing the crampons... See you at CVS.

I've been watching and waiting to make a final decision. A little while ago I thought it looks good to go and I packed my pack. But the fact that it's snowing on Baldy right now, with a high temp tonight of about 19, and a high tomorrow below freezing, makes me change my mind. This final post about the crowds of flatlanders who will be driving that road to get to the snow tomorrow was the deciding factor.

Shin, congratulations! I'm sorry to miss your event. The rest of you, have a great time.

Shin, I'm happy to say I will be there tomorrow after all! smile Really looking forward to seeing so many enthusiastic mountaineers and being able to share Shin's 300th.

I am driving up the mountain with 4WD and will be passing the lodge about 5:45-5:55. I have room for two more. I drive a gold Explorer (affectionately called Exploder since it has 220k+ miles.) We will slow down at the Lodge and look for anyone who is seeking a ride up.

Just thought i would mention goggles might be something nice to pack since it looks to be windy on top.

Be safe everyone and see you tomorrow!

Well, I hope Yeti was just kidding about not going!

I'm going to try to make it at least to the lodge. If it looks really dicey, I'll stay at the lodge and drink cocoa and think warm thoughts. I'd really like to make it to the ski hut though.

I can be easily identified by my silver Honda Accord and my 3 year old daughter.

If the road is truly shot for most of us, is there any thought of a plan "B" down in Claremont? Somebody text me if things get changed: ate won ate fore too seven ate oh five five.

Please post if there's a plan "B" down in Claremont. I'll check the board again before I leave tomorrow morning around 0445.

Heading to bed now!
