Heard a rumor that there's going to be a presentation up at the Portals two weekends from now.

Richard, let us know, don't want to miss this. Bee's post under WPS gang gives me a sad feeling inside. Maybe we can all bring alot of love to this one!

I've been thinking that a WPS Group Climb NEEDS to be put on the schedule... The SE Couloir on Thor Peak needs a LOT of boots to get it back in good climbing shape after the Flash Flood a few summers ago... It is still a Short & Sweet Route, even with the damage... I also don't think this is an encroachment on the Quota System...

I'll talk to Myles (Amy will be off on some climbing adventure) to see whether this is open for all... or we'll force it to be... I know that I heard he's doing the presentation for some climbing club and they decided (I think) they wanted the show to be up at the WPS.

<sigh>... yah, I feel the same way, Dave. The Thor Peak Memorial Hike was such an amazing experience... I felt so honored to be a part of it. My brother Ken and I still talk about it in awe.

But every group hike has been wonderful in its own way... the camaraderie I think we ALL felt at Shin's 300th summit up Baldy was so very special!

Richard, I don’t know if you’re only referring the hike coming up in two weeks, but I hope that there will be another group hike in the fall. My fall is pretty open…

Someone other than me (the one who never plans anything) should suggest a date for an Autumn outing in another thread...

How about Thor
Halloween
"costumes and candy hike"

Orionid Meteor Shower will be kicking from the 16th to the 30th.
Who doesn't like meteors?

oh, dinosaurs... I guess they're not huge fans.

Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.

What's the status on this, Myles? (I'll make sure I have my own car this time, and I'll hide the matches & gasoline from the kids before I leave town...)

Alright! Jeff hide the Matches.

So the show is in Ravine campground in the Whitney Portal on Sat, July 27. All are welcome to join. I am not off work till 9pm but I am sure the boss will let me sneak out early. I'll sadly be doing this one solo since Amy is heading off on some secret mission with the one and only Peter Croft. The show will be for the Rim of the World Climbing Club. Lots of history and stories of adventure in this group... So try to make it.

Hope to see you there....

What about a group solo? 2'500 ft vertical.... You just "causally Fall"
