Mt. Whitney Portal Store & Hostel Forums General Mt. Whitney Portal Hostel Best $5 spent EVAH!!

We popped in to the Hostel for showers before driving home last weekend, and spent the best $5 EVAH!! What a cute little place! For $5, you get a/c, soap, towel, and HOT WATER. Wonderful! The only room for improvement we could think of would be a bench in the bathroom, to sit on while we put on our shoes. Otherwise, perfect!!

I've taken advantage of these showers many times.

Getting ready for the High Sierra Trail in a few weeks. Are the showers available during this pandemic?

I have the same question. And long ago there were showers at the Portal. I was wondering if they're still operating or did they quit doing that at WP?

No showers at the portal itself - just at the Hostel.
