My rig's a Paris expedition sled (the orange one), custom dual-axis cotter pin shaft connectors, and fiberglass rods. Second rig is the same with a lighter sled. Does the job.

Trail Bud's Paris sled with U-shaped aluminum tubing poles must be extremely stable. Is there a 12-step program for pulk envy? I think I've got a case.

That's why they call it a "hand drill." (Oh, and what's the difference between ice climbing and a root canal? A root canal is more fun.)

laugh Then there'll be at least four of us because Karin and I are driving down together (WooHoo - road trip!!!) The bigger question is if there's gonna be any snow. There's going to be a full moon that weekend, though.....

I haven't thought about what kind of snacks I'll be bringing, Doug, but I'll bring something.

I'm just curious if everyone is planning on camping up there, or will there be people staying in Lone Pine? What are people's plans?

Any snow? The web cam shows what appears to be snow fall. May have to figure plan B instead of igloo building if it stays dry.

Hi Very dry. Last storm was several inches in the lower elevations and gone now , this system may have some snow in it but at the same time high winds, Heard 100 mph on the ridges forcast , this most often means the storm will blow through and not leave much. Need to see a system stall over the area.

How's the snow? Can't see the mountain through the fog.

Fair weather or snow, two of us northerners are coming down. Whether it's igloo building or a plan B, we'll be there. A little good (bad?) weather isn't gonna keep us away, right Rosie? Would be nice to see some snow, though, speaking for myself.

Absolutely not! smile I am SOOO looking forward to our road trip, and WHATEVER we all decide to do. It would certainly be nice if there was snow... but if not, I'm sure "Plan B" will be great! (LOL! what is "plan B" anyway? laugh )

I'm probably following ridgeline to the snow.

Why stop there?

If there no (or little) snow, we should go for the summit...
