I'm out due to 4 trips south in the last 3 months. Was hoping I could sneak away but with Dave & I being gone so much... our company has paid a price. Just can't justify though Dave was o.k. with me going. Will miss you guys.

Maybe a teepee instead of an igloo? Ridgeline has a nice plan. When in doubt, head for the snow.

Whatever this crew ends up doing... magic will happen.

Will propose a meeting point in town Saturday morning for those who want it. Need to check with my ride (the fabulous Ms. Rosie!) before proposing.

We should place a "where we are log" at the hostel, and attempt to meet up here and there. Like I said earlier, TB Doug, Myself, and two others, Jon and Ryan will be at the hostel Fri night and Sun night. Sat,Rock Creek rd to ? depends on snow conditions,Sun, June lk (some skiing, I'm hiking). Just does not look good for igloo bldg.

Got it. Need to do both. Thing is a few of us are coming from far away to see folks and get a little Whitney vibe. The webcam is nice but not the same as being there. smile So those who are heading to the portal (or higher?) Saturday may benefit from a meeting time/place. Will be fun running into others in the evening.

How about 9:00 am Saturday at the hostel for those interested in igloo building and/or an alternate Whitney area adventure?

And how about dinner Sunday night for anyone in Lone Pine then at, say, Merry-Go-Round at, say, 7 pm?

So, any ideas on a meet up time for Saturday morning? I will be arriving late Friday night(picking up my son Max from Mammoth) so I won't mind a bit of a lay in. I like Robins suggestion of Saturday evening dinner.
Looking forward to seeing everyone,
Phil

I suggest meet up at 9 a.m. on Saturday at Whitney Hostel (lobby).

I did not propose a Saturday evening yet. Think we need to see how it goes.

I did propose Sunday at 7 p.m. dinner at Merry Go Round for those who may be in Lone Pine.

How does that work for folks? Does someone want to propose a time for Saturday dinner (and place)? Or just keep eyes posted here once we figure out our plan?

Igloo mission completed! 11-footer built, easily fit the nine snow masons who built it with room to spare.
