Yeah, pretty darn fascinating. I believe they are now about 1/2 or more down California. I guess some people just have a high tolerance for pain.

Wow..... Unbelievable!!!!!! I can't even comprehend what they have gone through, and what they will go through to complete the PCT.

Thanks for posting the link. The pictures are incredible.

As their adventure continues will the story be updated regularly?

Hi Been following these guys, I think PCTA has updates and when they resupply they do updates, last thing I saw was they were in the Tahoe area and going to start using ski travel more. Check out the Bio's of these guys. Strong chance they will do well through the Sierra. Then it is the 800 miles of wind and desert that maybe the test. One can go lighter in this section in the summer but winter can be very cold and windy.
I would take -25 Utah over 40 Southern California.

Doug, tell Doug Jr I need a couple more pictures to hang on my walls (winter ones).....will either see you at the Long Beach show, or Memorial Weekend as usual. And don't tell us how easy it is following Lone Pine Creek via the old, old trail!!!!

Hi Paul You might like the hike to the real Lone Pine Waterfall or the John Muir route up the first canyon of the North Fork.
Cayden and I do a trail up the South Side of the Portal Falls we started doing it when he was about 6 so we went very slow and many stops, what we find now it is nearly vertical in sections! This is the route we took Harvey on to find the Miners Lettuce. Betsy likes it , always find some new flower or plant in bloom and sometimes will surprise a deer in the Meadow above the Falls

You're evil, Doug!!!!

Looks like another drought year and another early trip to the Kern River like last year on May 4th.

I'll let DaveG and Phil know that you have a good hike planned for them.

Is there an update as to where these guys are currently located? Looks like the weather has been fairly reasonably so far.

Not to take away from their accomplishment... and I said the same thing about my 52 weekends on Whitney...

It just goes to show what a sorry state the Sierra (and more) climate is in...
