Mt. Whitney Portal Store & Hostel Forums Thread Like Summary - Cottonwood / Trail Passes Trailhead - 01.02.2025

U was back up at Walt's Point playing with the drone...successful mission...more later...huge files...

I started walking from Walt's...
Mostly dry road for more than a mile...snow has retreated at least a few hundred yards...
I brought the snowshoes this time...
There was exposed pavement up at the Trailhead...average depth probably 18 inches...
Ended up being about 10 miles round-trip...probably at keast 7 on snowshoes...

No obvious people tracks, but lots of animals...Coyote poop and tracks and bear tracks were the real interesting ones...
